Creating monetary confidence
1
February 1st, 2012ExplorerIf there is one thing for sure in this world today it is the fact that people don’t spend money when they are not confident of their future. People need confidence that what they are currently doing will be there for the long haul. Contract for employment, especially at a casino, take away that confidence. After all, they are there to work, not to play.
Many people make a career out of the casino world and they do so with their future and the future of their families in mind. Common sense tells us that people will do a better job if they know that their livelihood is secure and that they may stand a chance at some promotions on down the road. If they know they are short-timers then some may do a good job while others may think that hard work isn’t worth it if they are just going to lose their job anyway. It doesn’t take any special skills to figure that out.
While it can be said that if people know they are competing for jobs just as players in a poker game compete for the money, they may do a better job. However, this has yet to be proven and in reality is the stress on the employees really worth it? It is true that healthy competition never hurt anyone but backstabbing and sabotaging does.
People are human and most will do whatever it takes to hang on to their jobs. Most people, in many countries already feel that hard work doesn’t matter so some may feel at a loss when they work hard but the person who brown-nosed the most keeps his job and hard worker is left.
There are all sorts of possibilities that can happen when people are placed under contract and there are many industries and businesses where people work on contract. Some may think there is no difference between the two but when you have a large amount of people under the same contract then things may get a little sticky.
When people don’t have confidence, they don’t buy things and when they don’t buy things the economy slows down. Hopefully the positive side of this will prevail and those who sign the contract will be rehired for another contract when it is all said and done.
